CHAMBERLAIN, ALLEN, JR. – Of Flint Township, age 94, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at his residence.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 11th, 2023 at Sunset Hills Cemetery, with Reverend Dr. Joseph Novak presiding. Military Honors will be performed under the auspices of the United States Army.
Allen was born in Brookland, AR on January 2, 1929, the son of the late James Chamberlain and Myrtle Boring, and was a resident of the Flint area since 1943.
He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of VFW Post #3087.
Mr. Chamberlain was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He was employed by Buick Motor Division for 32 years, retiring in 1979, and was a member of UAW Local #599.
Surviving are children, Julie (David) VandenBosch of Holland, Allen Wayne of Flint Township and
Janice (Stephen) Baillie of Flint Township;
daughters-in-law, Caroline and Connie Chamberlain;
grandchildren, Jamie (Andy) Atherton, Jeannie (Barry) Henry, Shira, Darin, Gilbert, Logan and Garrett Chamberlain;
12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-greatgranddaughter;
many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Georgia; parents; son, David; grandchildren, Shannon Chamberlain and Daniel Clifford; brothers, Vertis Ray Chamberlain and James Roland Chamberlain.
