SEGAR, Jean A. – of Montrose, age 79, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1209 Coutant St. in Flushing. Rev. Clifford Bira officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Monday from 4-8 PM. She will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of services at 10:30 AM. Contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or charity of one’s choice.
Jean was born December 4, 1934 in Traverse City to the late Arthur and Laura (Oleson) Basch. She had lived in Maple City, Traverse City, Flint, Mt. Clemens and then Montrose since 1992. She married James Segar on October 3, 1987 in Flint. Mrs. Segar retired from Michigan Bell in 1988 with 36 years seniority. Jean was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She loved to garden and work around the house.
Surviving are: husband, James; sisters, Arlene Moody of Millington, Judith (Donald) Schneider of Charlevoix; many nieces and nephews. Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
