CLUTE, DONALD JOO - Swartz Creek, age 80, died Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Villages of Lapeer.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Linden.
Visitation 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Don will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the Mass.
Those desiring may make contributions in Don’s memory to ALS.
Donald was born in Flint, Michigan on January 29, 1943, the son of Clifford and Julia (Joo) Clute.
In 1963 he married Maggie Murray and they were married for 50 years; she preceded him in death in 2014.
Don was employed by GM for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for many years.
He loved fishing, golfing and playing cards, especially Euchre. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are daughter, Deanne (Alan) Moses;
granddaughters, Chelsea (Nick) Schoenfield,
Megan (Andrew) Bossie and
Rhea (Ryan) Bauer and
sister, Judy Brown.
Special thank you to the Care Team Hospice for their loving care of Don.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie; parents, Clifford and Julia; son, Steven Clute.
