MADDEN, James L. “Bud” - Of Grand Blanc, age 89, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 3pm Friday, February 14, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to the Fenton VFW Post 3243.
Visitation 12 noon Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in Paducah, Kentucky on March 31, 1924, and resided in Fenton, Linden and Winter Garden, Florida. On January 25, 1946, he married Jeanette Reed. James served in the United States Navy during World War II as a 2nd Class Navy Seal on the U.S.S. Augusta. He was a member of the Fenton VFW Post 3243 and was also former President of the Fenton High School Booster Club. Bud also worked as a truck driver for Matlock Oil, service manager at Ferguson Ford in Fenton and owned Madden’s Trucking. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and caring grandfather.
Surviving are wife, Jeanette;
six children, Denny, Dan (Elaine), Don, Mike (Sharon), Kenny (Sharon) and Tanta;
19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren;
brother, Jesse (Virginia);
and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by brother, Harold and 2 sisters, Jean McLenna and June Belbin.
