Passed away early morning Monday December 14, 2020 at McLaren Hospital, Flint after a brief illness at the age of 73 years. Alma was born March 13, 1947 in Midland, MI to the late Ford A. and Gathel (Haas) Gulick. Alma was involved in Girl Scouts in Swartz Creek as well as with the Girl Scout Council for many years. She enjoyed sewing clothing, knitting, crocheting and crafts by machine for many years. She loved to craft. Alma was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Mom and Dad loved traveling and went on trips as much as possible to various parts of the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. She was adopted by Ford and Gathel Gulick as a baby and had only one older brother, Alba. She graduated from Midland high School and then went to school to be a Radiologic Technologist (X-ray Technician). She studied at Hurley Medical Center and later worked at Midland Hospital (Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center) and McLaren Regional Medical Center. She suffered with Rheumatoid Arthritis for approximately 44 years. On March 22, 1969 Alma married David A. Schlader, he survives her. A daughter; Kelly Fisher of Owosso and a brother; Alba (Bonnie) Gulick of Farwell and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive Alma.
Per Alma’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announce later. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Arthritis Foundation or the donor’s favorite charity. |
