George Lindsey Brocklehurst, age 97 of Grand Blanc, Michigan formerly Davison, Michigan passed away on July 14, 2021.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday July 20th, at 2:00pm at Meadowview Memorial Gardens in Davison, Michigan. Milan Campbell of Emmanuel Baptist of Otisville, Michigan will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home.
George was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 2, 1924. He graduated from Mackenzie High School in 1942 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in January 1943. George served in the 376th Bomb Group, the 514th Bomb Squadron in Southern Italy as a ball turret gunner until the end of WWII. Upon returning to the States he continued on to receive a Masters degree from Wayne State University.
George was married to Carol Jueckstock on August 14th 1948; they were married 60 years.
George worked as a teacher in Detroit. He then became an elementary principal in Allen Park and Grand Blanc for 33 years of total service. He also taught math for 15 years at Detroit College of Business in Flint, Michigan.
George is survived by daughter Linda (William) Heyworth, son Dale (Cathy) Brocklehurst, daughter Cynthia (Tom) Lillibridge, son Tom (Pam) Brocklehurst and daughter Sandy (Mike) Davis. He had 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. George was preceded in death by his wife Carol (2009) and daughter Cheryl Rupp (2003).
