Hoehn, James F. -of Maple Grove Township, age 81, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, in memory of Jim, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Maple Grove Township. Rev. Fr. T.J. Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Thursday from 4-8 PM, Friday from 1-8 PM with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 PM, and at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of Mass at 11 AM.
Jim was born March 24, 1936, in Maple Grove Township to the late Francis and Leona (Weisenberger) Hoehn. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Maple Grove in 1954. Jim married Mary Thorsby on October 19, 1957. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2004. He worked various jobs and owned his own construction company for several years. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering around the house and spending time with his family. Jim also enjoyed playing Euchre at the Maple Grove Senior Center. He was a member of St. Michael’S Church and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus - Council #2943.
Surviving are: Children: Christine (Dave) Draper of Montrose, Cathleen (Rob) St. James of Flushing, Lois ( Marty) Westmiller of Florida and North Carolina, Dennis Hoehn of Montrose, Daniel (Karen) Hoehn of Canton, MI., Marianne (Scott) Roat of Burton, Elizabeth (Darren) Carson of Cumming, GA., Grandchildren: Allyson (Christopher) Wilson, Sarah (Joe) Baca, Sean (Erica Carpenter) St. James, Tara, Stephanie, Nathan, Jeffrey Westmiller; Adam, Ryan, Michael, Olivia and Nicole Hoehn, Cameron Roat, Candice (Michael) Timmers, Carson Roat, Zachary, Brendan and Jillian Carson; Great grandchildren: Chase, Madalyn, Maisa, Althea, Cadence, Kinsley, Joe, Austin, Sutton; Sisters: Beatrice Kimball and Jayne Hoehn; Sisters in law: Penny Sierocki, Susan Hartley, Joyce Thorsby and Kathy Thorsby; Brothers in law: John and Fred Thorsby and Russ Tallmadge; Several nieces and nephews. Jim was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda; Sisters, Arlene Edmonds, and Katherine Tallmadge.
