LONG, CATHERINE "CATHY" – Of Flint, age 77, died Friday, July 1, 2022 at Springvale Assisted Living.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022
at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 West Court Street, Flint, with Pastor Jeremy Peters officiating.
Visitation from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the church.
The family requests that guests attending please wear a mask at the church.
An inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
Catherine was born in Flint, Michigan on August 2, 1944, the daughter of the late Alfred and Gwendola Butler.
She was married to Jim Long for 54 years and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2022.
Catherine was an RN for many years. Prior to that she was an Operator at Michigan Bell.
Surviving are children, Stacy (Matt) Fritz and Sheila (Josh) Taylor; step-children, Connie (Jim) Herron, Laurie Stacey, Mark (Jolien) Long;
11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren;
sister, Janet Ringlein;
special friends, Linda Leser, Diane Sanglier, Priscilla Dodd and Ruthanne Hetherington.
Contributions may be made to Court Street United Methodist Church or Crossover Ministries.
