MERRELLI (HADDAD), JoAnn “JoJo” – Of Chesterfield, formerly of Flint, age 60, died Monday, December 6, 2021 at McLaren-Macomb Hospital.
JoAnn was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada on May 18, 1961, the daughter of Harry and Patricia (Shaheen) Haddad.
She graduated from Central Michigan in Communications-Journalism.
She was employed by GM for 25 ½ years.
She was a former member of St. George Orthodox Church. She enjoyed cooking, and was known for her hashwi rice; sewing, reading, exercising and shopping.
The happiest day of her life was on September 25, 2004 when she married David Merrelli.
JoJo will be remembered by many for her kindness and generosity.
Survived by husband, David;
uncle, Richard Shaheen of Flushing;
brother-in-law, Al and wife Dawn Merrelli;
sister-in-laws, Paula Merrelli, Lynne and husband Dennis Ramel; nephews and niece, Kyle, Nicholas, Anthony and Rachel;
God-daughter, Mila Nassar and loving dog, Rusty.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother, Mamie Shaheen.
She will be dearly missed by many friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road, Flint, The Very Reverend Father Joseph Abud officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of contributions, donations may be made to St. George Orthodox Church or charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Trisagion Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
JoJo will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
