CARTER, Aleyn H. – of Davison, age 83, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday March 14, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 10 AM–12:30 PM prior to the service.
Aleyn was born in Hancock, MI on July 15, 1940, daughter of the late Ambrose P. and Mildred (Lyons) Leask. She was raised on Sugar Island, MI; the family moved to the Beecher area when she was a young child. Aleyn survived the deadly Beecher tornado and graduated from Beecher High School. She married in 1959 and raised her family in Burton. Aleyn received her master’s degree in social work from U of M. She made a career of providing social work assistance in Burton where she owned and operated Aleyn’s Adult Foster Care for 15 years. Aleyn resided at Taecken’s Terrace of Davison until her passing. She took pride in her grandsons and made family her priority. Alyen was proud of her Sault Ste. Marie Chippewa Indian heritage and encouraged her family to attend several Tribal activities over the years. She enjoyed traveling, walking and playing Bunko and Bingo with her lifetime friends.
Aleyn is survived by son, Dean (Michele) Carter; daughter, Darcy Carter; grandsons, Aaron, and Jack Carter; brothers, Don (Happy) Leask, and Robert (Jackie) Leask; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Mildred Leask; sister, Ardith (Leask) Carter; niece, Patricia Carter.
