BUNN, Helen P. (Gafford-Brown) – of Montrose, age 86, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Friday, October 21, 2022. Honoring her wishes, cremation will be taking place. A memorial service will be held at 12PM Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Victory Tabernacle – 1497 W. Pine St., in Clio. The family will receive visitors at the tabernacle on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 12PM.
Helen was born February 18, 1936, in Tillar, Arkansas, to the late William and Grace (Stevens) Gafford. She married Bruce E. Bunn on December 30, 1999. Helen was a passionate flower gardener and skilled seamstress. She enjoyed traveling, road trips, playing pinochle and video games, shopping online, and finding the best deal everywhere she went. Helen never met a stranger and will be most remembered by her kindness and generosity. She loved to laugh and was known for always saying “if I can’t laugh, life just ain’t worth livin.” Above all, she was a true champion for her family and friends and was a second mom to many – offering encouragement and support whenever she could. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are: Husband, Bruce Bunn; Children: Linda Katsuyama, Raymond Brown, Connie (Don) Hart, Julie Hendershott, Connie (Mike) Cummings, Tim (Jill) Bunn, and Christine Cross; 22 grandchildren: Jennifer (Bill) Eaton, Tracy (Shane) Moore, Ashley (Lee) Meador, Abbie (Scott) Mills, Aaron (Jessica) Hart, Justin (Jon) Brown, Jayna (Dynell) Hayward, Tracy Bellmore, Jody (Marty) Englehart, Lewis Cummings, Christopher Cummings, Bruce (Melissa) Bunn III, Lisa Bunn, Eric Bunn, Jamie Bunn, Jenny Reliegh, Stacy Buerger, Timothy Bunn Jr., Crystal (Brad) Arrand, Joshua Bunn, Tiffany (Shane) Hartman, and Heather Cross (Efrain); 80 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; Sisters: Sonja Robinson, and Vivian Gutierrez; Many other loving family members and friends. Helen was also preceded in death by: First husband, Raymond H. Brown Sr.; Son, Bruce L. Bunn; Brothers: William Gafford, and Robert Gafford; Great grandchildren; Tyesha Kemp, and Josiah Holmes.
