MOLE, Douglas L. – of Chesaning Twp., died Thursday, August 10, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 75 years of age.
Douglas was born in Ypsilanti on December 5, 1947, the son of Robert J. and Pauline B. (Hobbs) Mole. Douglas had previously lived in Ovid before moving and living the past 28 years in Chesaning. He was united in marriage to Delores A. Jolly on October 31, 1996. He was an Honorably Discharged US Army Veteran, having served during the Cold War, Berlin, Vietnam and was in the Special Forces.
Mr. Mole worked on telephone repair for many years. He was a member of the DAV, American Legion Post #212 of Chesaning, Road Runners motorcycle club. In his younger years, he had a band and could play guitar, drums, and the keyboard. Douglas enjoyed riding his motorcycle, driving his Camero, fishing, hunting, music, and spending time with his Brittany Spaniels.
Douglas is survived by his beloved wife of over 26 years, Delores; children, Lisa Bowers of Owosso, Tammy Dehmel of Burton, Bradley (Lexie) Jolly of Kentucky, and Matthew Jolly of Montrose; five grandchildren, Cody, Jessica (Jay), Jordan, Julie and Jenna; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Paula and Sharon; and nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Misiuk Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday and then 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of the services at 10:30 a.m.
