McGinnis, George Phillip - Age 86, of Grand Blanc, died December 29, 2023. Services will be held 12 PM Tuesday January 2, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Bishop Keith McKinnies officiating. (The service may be viewed by livestream at Mr. McGinnis' page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Visitation will be held 11 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday January 2.
George was born July 14, 1937 in Flint, the son of Hans George McGinnis and Louise (Racine) McGinnis. George married Sharion Arrowood on September 18, 1982 in Flint. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was a graduate of General Motors Institute. George retired from General Motors - Chevrolet after many years of service. He was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle. He loved cars, and boats and being on the water. He especially loved his Corvettes. He enjoyed Fishing for Pike. George loved dogs, especially his dog Mickey. He loved and cared for his family and grandchildren dearly.
Surviving are: wife of 41 years, Sharion; daughters, Kim (Ben) Handa, Sha'Lorena Manoharan; grandchildren, Josh Handa, Jeremy (Brittany) Handa, Jon Handa, Charlie Handa, Emerie Manoharan; many great-grandchildren; brother David McGinnis; several nieces and nephews. .
