Cathie Ann Conlen, 74, of Flushing, passed away December 19, 2023 at McLaren Medical Center.
She was born on September 11, 1949, and lived in Flushing her entire life. She graduated from Flushing High School and received her BA in elementary education from Western Michigan University and a Masters in education from Michigan State University. She spent her teaching career at Swartz Creek public Schools teaching 4th and 5th grades and middle school science. In addition, she was an elementary school librarian for many years. She retired after 32 years in teaching. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling to many foreign lands, golf league and quilting with her friends in the Genesee Star Guild. She remained life long friends with several of her WMU college roommates. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Gerry Conlen. She is survived by her brothers Tim of Findlay, Ohio, Paul of Traverse City and her sister Marti Earhart (John) of Findlay, Ohio; her niece, Megan,; her cat, Daisy; and many cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing from 4-7p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
