POWELL, Kenneth – of Genesee Twp., age 83, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at St. Mary’s of Michigan – Saginaw. Per Kenneth’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service, with Military Honors, will be held 2 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd., Davison; Pastor Allen Sudmann officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Oxford Kids Foundation, www.oxfordkidsfoundation.org or to the Davison VFW Post #4087.
Kenneth was born in Laingsburg, MI on March 15, 1931, son of the late Edward and Clara (Case) Powell. He married Evelyn Barks on October 30, 1953. Kenneth proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Franchi’s Beer Distributorship in 1988 and was a member of Flint Teamsters Local #333. Some of the hobbies he enjoyed were mushroom hunting, fishing and traveling to all of the United States.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn; children, Wes (Shelia), Pam Tobias and Bruce (Tami); grandchildren, Brad (Carrie) Powell, Jamie (Drew) Sipley, Kristin, Lindsay, Blake, JeAnnah, Jennifer (Kevin) Boggs, Jaclyn (Pat) Garl and Jessica (Mark) Wright; 15 loving great-grandchildren.
