WILLIAMS, Clarice – of Mt. Morris, age 89, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd., Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Gary Beck officiating. Internment will immediately follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or St. Mark Quilters Group, in Clarice’s memory.
Clarice was born in Clio, Michigan on April 10, 1933, daughter of the late Arthur M. and Linda C. (Frank) Veitengruber. She graduated from Clio High School in 1951 where she participated in Band and Y-Teens. Clarice attended Flint Junior College and transferred to U of M where she graduated with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology in 1955. She married Robert Williams on August 29, 1959. Her first job was at St. Luke’s Hospital in Saginaw. She also worked at Hurley and St. Joseph Hospitals in Flint. Clarice loved the outdoors. Her hobbies included gardening, hiking, bird watching, cross-country skiing and going on field trips with nature groups that she belonged to. Clarice and her husband hiked on many trails together all throughout the West. She also loved their summer home where she swam, sailed, kayaked, and canoed. Clarice also belonged to a church group which made quilts for World Relief. She enjoyed sewing and counted cross-stitch embroidery in her spare time. Most of all, she loved her family and loved to spend time with them.
Clarice is survived by her loving husband, Robert; children, David (Diane) Williams and Susan (Scott) Bentley; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas (Nicole) Williams, Clarissa Williams, Bradley Williams, Emily Williams, Kristelle Bentley and Chelsea Bentley; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxon Williams and Evianna Williams; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Veitengruber.
