Mikel Skripnik, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2021 in Flint. Per the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Mikel was born on August 13, 1932, in Yugoslavia to the late Ivan and Juliana (Jaroslavsky)Skripnik.
Mikel immigrated to the US in June 1968 with his wife Agata, son Miroslav and daughter, Mirijana. He retired from GM from the Chevy Plant in Flint Michigan in 1992 as an electrician.
Mikel and Agata moved to Florida in 1992. He returned to Flint in 2015. The last few years of his life he stayed at Landing of Genesee Assisted Living Facility in Flint.
Mikel was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Agata and daughter Mirijana who lived in South Africa.
He is survived by his son Miroslav (Beth); two grandsons Benjamin and Nikolas (Stacey); great granddaughter Eleanor; granddaughter, Kimberly Smith Broom of South Africa; sister Stefica Salic of Florida and brother, Vladimir (Reina) Skripnik of Flint. Vladimir took care of him in the last five years of his life.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers Tomo, Steven, sisters Kathrine, Josefina, Olga and Emilija. many nieces and nephews and friends. Share your condolences with the family at www.hillfh.com
