PALMER, Elwood A. – of Clio, age 86, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Cranberry Park Memory Care in Clio. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Scott Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Clio VFW Post# 1452. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7PM. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Elwood was born July 13, 1927 in Flint to the late William and Ethel (Cook) Palmer. He served in the U.S. Army. Elwood married Phyllis Lefebvre on May 15, 1946 in Flint, she preceded him in death on September 17, 2012. Mr. Palmer retired as a building inspector in 1988 from the City of Flint with 18 years seniority, and was formerly a building contractor. Elwood was a former member of the First Methodist Church in Mt. Morris and enjoyed hunting, golfing and travelling.
Surviving are: children, Karen Anderson of Clio, Robert Palmer of Clio, Janice White of Beaverton, OR; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
