Partridge, Donna Jean (Smith), 91, passed away on January 22, 2022, at the Riverglens Assistive Living in Montrose, MI.
Donna was the youngest of four daughters born to Oles and Orpha (Erwin) Smith of Burton, MI. She married Porter M. Partridge, Jr on September 10, 1954, and they were together for 49 years until his death in 2003. Donna was a loving mother to her daughters, Gail (Ken) Harvanek and Lisa (Michael) Boyd; her grand daughters, Laura (Jesse) Curtis and Emily Boyd, Cynthia (Charles) Campagna, Michael (Hilary) Harvanek, Jaclyn (Scott) Mosena and Bryan Harvanek. She will also be missed by her six great-grandchildren, who called her “Donna The Great”; by her beloved sister,Thelma Poole; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A well-regarded student and athlete of the Bendle High School Class of 1948, Donna and Porter raised their family in Flint, MI, where she worked at Farmer Peet Meat as a bookkeeper and with the Flint Public Library’s StoryHour Program as a teacher. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, she attended the Flint Bristol Road Church of Christ for many years, where both her father and husband were Elders, and later the Tanque Verde congregation in Tucson, AZ during the winter months and the West Branch, MI congregation during the summer, while residing at the family cottage on Rifle Lake. She will be fondly remembered by the many whose lives she has touched.
Our special thanks go to the wonderful staff at Riverglens Assistive Living and First Hospice Care, for their tender care. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in her honor to the charity of your choice.
