OSBORN SR., RICK I. – Of Birch Run, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, with Bob Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am on Wednesday until the time of service.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Lakeview Cemetery in Torch Lake Township, Central Lake, MI.
Rick was born in Flint, Michigan on March 3, 1943, the son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Bennett) Osborn. He retired from General Motors as a QPC worker. Rick was a Boy Scout Leader in which he achieved the Order of the Arrow Award. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Rick was a proud taxidermist and also enjoyed NASCAR and short track racing.
Surviving are daughter, Juanita and Michael Leask of Central Lake;
son, Rick, Jr. and Melissa Osborn of Clio;
grandchildren, Anthony Osborn of Mt. Morris,
Rick Osborn III and girlfriend, Mackenzie Ouellette of Clio,
Michael, Jr. and Ashley Leask of Central Lake, Elizabeth and Blake Little of Flint and extended grandson, Stranton Mullins;
great-grandchildren, Bentley Osborn, Peighton Gilmore, Abbigale Leask, Josephine Little and Ava Ouellette;
siblings, Marlene Blakemore of Davison, Edwin Osborn of Central Lake, Bonnie Russell and Janell Bailey, both of Flint, Mark and Betty Osborn of Eastport;
and many nieces and nephews, all very dear to him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Osborn; mother, Elizabeth (Bennett) Osborn; sister, Teri Kim Osborn; sister-in-law, Patricia Osborn; brothers-in-law, Daniel Pillsbury and Leroy Lau.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory are suggested to the Tall Pine Council, Boy Scouts of America, 507 W. Atherton Road, Flint MI 48507.
