SIMMONDS, Marlene L. – of Otisville, MI, age 70, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Steven Henry officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM Friday, October 27, 2023 and 10:30 AM-11:30 AM Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home.
Marlene was born in Pontiac, MI on October 5, 1953, daughter of Bernard and Lila (Scott) Judd. She married Gerald Simmonds on January 15, 1972, in Lapeer, MI. Marlene graduated from North Branch High School. She enjoyed growing up on her family’s farm in Fostoria, which led to her love of horses. Marlene attended Mott Community College where she obtained a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree and worked for several years in that capacity. Marlene and Gerald spent many years travelling, including Hawaii, Ireland, Florida and several other states throughout the U.S. She and Gerald enjoyed their summers at their cottage in Indian River, MI. Marlene had a passion for singing and listening to classical country music. She cherished the times spent with her grandchildren and family.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Gerald Simmonds; 2 sons, Kevin (Christine) Simmonds and Jason (Sarah Engelmann) Simmonds; 4 grandchildren, Trent, Sydney Alison and Eric; mother, Lila Hewitt; 5 siblings, Jerry (Laurene) Judd, Dale (Betty) Judd, Phillip Judd, Larry Judd and Mark (Brenda) Judd; and many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Judd and stepfather, Henry Hewitt.
