PERSONS, Marie. – of Flint, formerly of Montrose, age 60, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, July 16, 2021, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Hal Phillips will be officiating. Honoring her wishes, cremation is to follow. The family will receive visitors at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home on Friday from 11AM until the time of the service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
Marie was born October 29, 1960, in Bethesda, Maryland to Charles and Carol (Wright) Persons. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1978. Marie was a dedicated and hard working mother; she raised five children on her own, worked full time, and through all of life’s distractions earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from Baker College. 30 years ago Marie met the love of her life Bruce Rogers. Marie loved the outdoors and became a true Michigan outdoors-woman; she loved to spend time with Bruce sharing outdoor adventures, and looked forward to hunting, fishing, camping, spending time at the cottage on Black Lake and gardening. Above all, Marie loved her children and being a Mother and Grandmother came first.
Left to cherish her memory are: Soul mate and companion; Bruce Rogers; Parents Charles and Carol (Wright) Persons; Children: Gwendellynn (Ron) Ener of TX, Kevin (Amanda) Hescott, Joseph Hescott, James (Shelby) Hescott, Christopher Rogers, Justin B. (Andria) Rogers; 12 grandchildren that she loved dearly; Siblings; Charles F. Persons, Mark B. (Yan) Persons of CA, Maryjane Persons of OH, Niece; Mandi Persons of CA, and her best friend of many years, Sharron Ibbottson. Marie was preceded in death by her stepson Scott Alan Rogers.
