FADER, Dorothy – Of Grand Blanc, age 95, died Friday, March 26, 2021
at her residence.
Private funeral service will be held at Swartz Funeral Home.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carriage Town Ministries.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Visitation 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born in Milford, Michigan on December 26, 1925, the daughter of the late Lorin and Caroline (Swann) Miller and was a resident of Grand Blanc since 1935.
She married Roy Fader on March 6, 1946 in Goodrich and he preceded her in death in 1998.
She loved crocheting, embroidering, playing piano, singing, reading, gardening, baking and was a fabulous cook.
Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc and former member of Atlas Community Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the White Cross Missionary Circle.
Dorothy worked alongside her husband, Roy on a dairy farm for a number of years. She led the Story Hour at the Grand Blanc Township Library and McFarland District Library in Grand Blanc for many years.
Surviving are 2 sons, Royal and wife Kay of Williamston and
Ron of Grand Blanc;
“adopted son” Ben Jones of Flint
several nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by sister, Martha Butts; brother, Maurice Miller and Ron’s partner Jeff Springgay.
Dorothy valued being the matriarch of the Fader and Miller families. She loved unconditionally and gave hugs that one wouldn’t forget. She believed and wanted people to know they are the Beloved of God and no one can take that from you.
