PYLES, Nola May (Smith) – of Otisville, MI, age 87, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 212 Center Street, Otisville, MI 48463; Rev. Fr. Kenneth F. Coughlin celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 1 PM to 6 PM Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423, and the hour prior to the Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 5 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Club of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, in Nola’s memory.
Nola was born in Millington, MI on March 20, 1935, daughter of the late Ernest and Cecelia (Gauthier) Smith. She married Zane “Mike” Pyles on November 7, 1953, and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2018. Nola was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Nola was a member of the Red Hats Society and TOPS. She enjoyed walking outside and attending events at the Forest Township Senior Center.
Nola is survived by 4 children, Joe (Eva) Pyles, Annette (Mike) Recker, Jim (Amy) Pyles and Teresa (Matt) McCreedy; 9 grandchildren, (Amy), Miranda (Kevin), Katie (Brian), Makayla, Adam (Ashlynn), Clayton, Marcus (Mallory), Nola and Angela (Seth); 11 great-grandchildren, Alayna, Elizabeth, Emerson, Gracelynn, Raelynn, Landon, Weston, Trey, Myles, Laney and Luke; siblings, Rose Vanaman, June Beebe; sister-in-law, Virgina Smith; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Zane “Mike” Pyles; son, Michael Pyles; 2 grandchildren, Cecelia and Zachariah; several siblings.
