MINTO, Randall “Randy”– of Davison, age 65, passed away on September 25, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd. Davison, MI 48423. Pastor David Moody officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12-7 PM on Monday, October 2, 2023 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ireland’s Dream or Lapeer County Medical Care Facility-Suncrest, Kimberly’s residence, in Randy’s memory.
Randy was born in Flint, MI on November 16, 1957, son of the late Robert and June (Wigard) Minto. He married Carla Adams on August 6, 1983. Randy was a pillar of the community with an unbelievable work ethic. He managed the Davison Athletic Club for over 30 years. At age 20, he played racquetball for 102 hours and 13 minutes to qualify for the Guiness Book of World Records. Randy played 489 games total, winning 386 of those. Money raised was donated to the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon. He was inducted into the Racquetball Association of Michigan Hall of Fame in 2002. Following his management of the DAC, Randy became an award-winning real estate agent for Century 21 Metro Brokers of Davison. Randy had a passion for family, friends, fitness and fun. He loved spending time with his family, and his dog Buddy, especially summertime in Elk Rapids; he enjoyed sports, and most recently found a love for pickle ball. Randy loved supporting Davison sports and was an avid wrestling fan. He was always teaching and mentoring the younger generation. He will truly be missed by many.
Randy is survived by his wife, Carla; children, Ashley (Rob) Soethe and Nic (Heather) Minto; grandchildren, Trenten, Dylen, Beckham, Jacob, and Jaxon; siblings, Tyrone Minto, Kathy (Tony) Wittbrodt, Kurt Minto, and Kimberly Minto; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Becky Minto.
