Sharon Jean (Rohmann) Wright, of Flushing, passed away January 1, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones.
Sharon was born April 14, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, to Frederick and Anna Mae Rohmann. She graduated from Kearsley High School, where she eventually served as president of the Board of Education. Sharon later graduated from The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor with a Master's Degree in Social Work. She spent several years making a positive difference in the community as both a therapist and social worker for her clients before retiring.
Sharon was filled with joy and laughter, making friends wherever she went. She had a tremendous love of animals, her love extending beyond her many pets to the birds and critters outside her window. Sharon had a passion for cooking and fine cuisine, and she loved holidays, games and music, life long learning and her many friends and relatives.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ken Wright of Flushing, loving daughters Jennifer (Bill) of Evanston, IL, and Jody (Rick) of Flushing, sister Kathy Winemiller (Dave) of Traverse City, brother-in-law David Stephens, many nieces and nephews, and her dogs Corky and Riley. She was preceded in Death by her Sisters Jerry Lynn Rohmann and Mary Ann Stephens.
The family will be forever grateful for friends and relatives who kept in touch and brought joy to Sharon, along with the dedicated medical professionals who provided comfort and companionship.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a gift of support to your local Humane Society. |
