FELLOWS, Perry Lee – of Columbiaville, MI, age 75, passed away February 1, 2024. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Residential Hospice, in Perry’s memory.
Perry was born in Flint, MI on September 21, 1948, son of the late Ivan and Lucy (King) Fellows. On October 5, 1968, Perry embarked on a journey of love and companionship when he married JoyceAnn Smith in Battle Creek, MI. This union became the foundation of a life filled with joy, laughter, and shared dreams. Perry dedicated 30 years of hard work to General Motors, leaving a legacy of commitment and diligence upon his retirement in 2002. Beyond the realms of his professional life, Perry found fulfillment in the simplicity of life's pleasures. His Centennial Farm was not only a place of labor but also a haven where he delighted in selling strawberries, connecting with the land, and finding peace amidst nature's bounty. Perry's love for bodybuilding and weightlifting reflected his determination and discipline. His dedication extended to the cheering crowds at his grandchildren's sporting events, where he found immense pride and joy in their achievements. Perry found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. His fingers danced effortlessly across the strings of his beloved guitar, creating melodies that echoed the warmth of his soul. The music he played was not just notes; it was a reflection of the passion and joy that radiated from his heart. His love for the guitar was infectious, and he often shared his gift with those fortunate enough to be in his presence. Beyond the strings and chords, Perry found solace and fulfillment in the serenity of his garden. Amongst the vibrant blooms and flourishing greenery, he cultivated a haven of tranquility. His hands, which were equally adept at strumming tunes, tenderly cared for each plant, creating a haven that mirrored the beauty within his own spirit. Perry's impact extended far beyond the notes he played and the gardens he nurtured. He touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and genuine nature. Above all, Perry cherished his roles as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. His love for his family was boundless, and the memories created together are a testament to the strength of the bonds he held dear. His daughters and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and his love for them was unwavering. Perry's compassion wasn't limited to humans alone; his four-legged friends held a special place in his heart. His dogs were not just pets but beloved companions who brought joy and companionship to his days. As we bid farewell to Perry, let us remember the laughter he shared, the music he played, and the gardens he tended. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration as we celebrate the beautiful life of Perry, a man who lived with passion, love, and a melody in his heart.
Perry is survived by his wife of 55 years, JoyceAnn Fellows; 2 daughters, Alice (Dennis) Blandford and Jennifer Hamacher; 4 grandchildren, Chelsea, Connor, Jared and Dalton; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan; mother, Lucy and beloved aunt, Jeanette Costello.
The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to Perry’s hospice nurse, Jen Allen, for her compassionate and professional care.
