COON, DEANNA F. – Of Grand Blanc, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Ascension Genesys Hospital surrounded by her family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. An inurnment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am on Saturday until the time of the service.
Deanna was born in Flint, Michigan on April 12, 1937 the daughter of the late Lorne and Fern (Berube) Lawson. She married her Grand Blanc High School sweetheart, Wayne D. Coon, on September 21, 1957. Deanna liked her flower gardens, antiques and home crafting projects. She loved all kinds of animals. Above all else, she loved spending time with family and friends at her cottage on Tawas Bay.
Left to cherish Deanna’s memory are children, Jeffrey (Debra) Coon, Sheila (Ken) Wisniewski and Teresa (Spencer) Hamilton;
grandchildren, Ryan (Jenna) Coon, Kevan (Alexandra) Coon, Nolan, Regan and Jason Hamilton and Matthew and Luke Wisniewski;
great-granddaughters, Ella, Maeve, Mackenzie and Adalie and triplets due in early 2024;
sister, Lorna (Ray) Green;
sisters-in-law, Sandy and Barbara Coon;
and special cat, Zoe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Coon; son, Tracy Coon; parents-in-law, Marvin and Charlotte Coon and brothers-in-law, Ron and Dale Coon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Deanna’s memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
