Charles Lee Woodruff, of Flushing, Michigan, age 89, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at his home. Cremation has taken place. Burial with military honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
Charlie was born in Flint, Michigan on January 8, 1933 to Lee and Mattie (Vaughan) Woodruff. He was a proud Korean War Veteran serving 8 years total in the United States Air Force. Following that he had a career as a job setter and tested Chevy V8 engines with General Motors, retiring in 1990. He married his beloved wife, Barbara, on December 22, 1992. Together they had many pets and he leaves behind his beloved cat, Molly.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Barbara Woodruff; children, Laurie (Eric) Jackson, John (Nancy) Woodruff, Brenda Hatch, and Cathy Engel; step-children, Debbie Schefer and Lisa (Spencer) Stokes; grandchildren, Brad Woodruff, Byron (Kayla) Woodruff, George Hatch, Charles Hameline, Chad Engel, Kevin Engel, Lindsay Schaefer, and Rachelle (Richard) Bedell; and great-grandchildren, William Woodruff, Benjamin Bedell, and Brighton Bedell. He was preceded in dearth by his grandson, Clinton Hameline; step-children, Jodi Ann Schaefer and Scott Schaefer; two brothers; and his parents. |
