Born on June 27, 1948, in Durand, Michigan, to Morris and Erma (Eldred) Cheadle, Anna's passion for life and her family was evident from her earliest days. She was one of eight children, growing up in a bustling household where love and laughter were abundant. On September 4, 1971, Anna married her soulmate, Howard Bruno, in a beautiful ceremony in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, as they built a life together in Durand, Michigan, raising their children with immense care and devotion.

Anna is lovingly remembered by her husband, Howard; their children, Adam (Heather) Bruno and Kim (Sheldon) Dorminey; her cherished grandchildren, Brooke Brown, Taylor Lilly, Bailey Reasoner, Alexis Bruno, Cody Bruno, T.J. Green, and Dillan Bruno; and a delightful brood of great-grandchildren who will carry her legacy forward. Her sister, Becky Rouse, remains to hold dear the shared memories of growing up together. Anna now joins her parents and six of her siblings, who preceded her in death, in eternal rest.

Those who knew Anna understood her unwavering commitment to her family. She was the heart of her home, often found caring for her children and grandchildren with an open heart and open arms. Her gardens, particularly the peonies, were a source of great joy and a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Each bloom stood as a symbol of her love of beauty and her talent for creating it in the world around her.

Anna Bruno’s strength was legendary. She lived life on her terms, and you always knew where you stood with her. Her sharp wit could carve a smile out of the sternest of faces and laughter was never in short supply; her quick wit, sarcasm, and signature jokes meant there was never a dull moment. She mastered turning the most mundane moments into the most memorable.

Beyond her family, Anna's sense of community was profound. She was deeply involved in the Eagles Club in Durand, where she served as past president and spent many years contributing her culinary skills. Her cooking was more than just a task; it was a way to connect with others, to share her warmth, and to make lasting friendships. The Eagles Club became a second family to Anna, there her generosity and dedication were well-known and deeply appreciated.

Anna's spirit will continue to live on through the love she poured into her family, the beauty she cultivated in her gardens, and the community she helped to strengthen. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter and a treasure trove of memories to those who knew her. Although the world is a little less bright without Anna’s light, heaven surely just got a whole lot funnier.

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
