TILLEY, James E. “Jim” - Of Flint, age 72, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, MI
Father Steve Anderson and Monsignor George Michalek officiating.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
Contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Outreach or Genesee County Autism Society.
Visitation 5-8pm Thursday and 2-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Scripture Service will be held at 7pm Friday evening followed by a Holy Redeemer Knights of Columbus Council #10170 Service at the funeral home. Mr. Tilley will be at the church 10am Saturday until the time of the service.
James was born to James and Beulah (Hoard) Tilley in Flint on October 18, 1941. On January 20, 1962, he married Patricia Whalen at St. Matthew Church in Flint. James was employed at Fisher Body Plant I and retired from Buick City in 1999. After retirement, he went to work for Randy Wise Chevrolet. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. James enjoyed trips to the casino and going on the Annual Fall Color Tour. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially family Euchre Tournaments and spending time with his many friends.
Surviving are wife, Patricia;
children, Jeff and fiancé Cindy, Michele and husband Jim Marcy, Christine Kasper and partner, Kathy, Erin and fiancé Rich, Amy Tilley;
grandchildren, Justin, Jesse, James, Jeffery, Hayley, Zack, Mitchel, Sara, Caleb, Nick and Christian;
great-grandson, Jayden;
daughter-in-law, Kelly and son-in-law, Tim;
brothers, Larry and wife Margaret Tilley, Tom Tilley and many relatives and friends.
