DEBUS, Norma Sue – of Flint, age 90, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Medilodge of Montrose. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Jesse Minor III officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to The Michigan School for the Blind, 715 W. Willow St. Lansing, MI 48915.
Norma was born January 9, 1932, in Monette, Arkansas to the late Lester and Catherine (Nelson) Duncan. She grew up in Flint and graduated from Flint Central High School with the class of 1950. She married Antone “Timmy” Decker, Jr. in 1951, and had two beautiful daughters, Deborah and SueAnne. Norma worked at AC Sparkplug, FOH and Genesys Hospital - retiring as a unit clerk in the late 1980’s. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and Vienna Greens Golf Course. Norma was an avid golfer for many years who also loved to cook, sunbathe, walk, watch afternoon soaps, and ball games, especially MSU Spartans. She was hard working, very giving and always there to help those in need. Most of all, Norma cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed countless hours/days spent with grandkids and greats. Norma leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with those close to her including many friends and beloved nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed
Surviving are: Daughters: Deborah Scott (John Dougherty), and SueAnne (Tim) McAdam; Grandchildren: Christine (Doug) Wilson, Tracy (Jesse) Minor III, Sarah (Joe) Skowronek, Megan (Ingus) Burleson, John Dougherty, and Mark (Heather) Dougherty; Great Grandchildren: Nicolas Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Jesse Minor IV, Lilly Minor, Owen Minor, Abigail Skowronek, Logan Burleson, Madeline Burleson, and Brenda Dougherty. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Antone Decker, Jr.; Siblings: Anita Hodgeman, Glendora Nichols, Nelson “James” Duncan, and Patsy Duncan. The family would like to thank Medilodge of Montrose and McLaren Hospice staff for their excellent and attentive care of Norma, especially during these trying times.
