BRISSETTE, Andrew E. – of Davison, age 83, passed away on August 23, 2022. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon Friday, August 26, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. Visitation will be 4-7PM Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed 6:30PM Thursday at the funeral home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice and Home Care Foundation, Attn: Donations, 1515 Cal Drive, MI 48423, The Cottage of Davison, 1515 Cal Dr., Suite A, Davison, MI 48423 or The Michael J. Andrew was born in Norton, Vermont on October 8, 1938, son of the late Alphonse and Antoinnette (Devost) Brissette. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy and Reserves. Andrew married Kathryn on September 18, 1993. He was a passionate golfer and enjoyed playing in tournaments around the country. Andrew raised and showed Appaloosa horses and also took pleasure raising peacocks. He enjoyed hunting and received a certificate for the record whitetail buck in 1980 from the Commemorative Bucks of Michigan. In the early eighties, Andrew was a private pilot and co-owned a single-engine Cessna. He was a gifted carpenter, having built a large garage which housed Andy’s Small Engine Repair that he owned and operated for nine years in Ortonville. Andrew retired from General Motors in 1991 where he worked as a Manufacturing and Process Automotive Engineer. He returned to General Motors to work under contract for several years, officially retiring in 1999. Andrew and Kathryn enjoyed RVing together in Arizona and Florida for 5 years during the winter months.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Kathryn; children, Debbi (John) Myers, Cathy (David) Patterson, Andrew Jr., Christopher, and Patty (Robert) Kababik; stepdaughter, Amanda (William) Roche; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Pearl Brissette and Barbara Brissette; many other loving family members and friends, especially former wife, Bonnie Pestrue. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dolphis (Annette), Bernard, Rita (Holman) Cross, and Francis, along with several beloved four-legged friends.
