Barb Whalen, age 77, of Davison, MI passed away May 18, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimers. Barb was born on November 7, 1948, in Flint, MI to Glen and Ruth Blight. She graduated from Flint Central - Class of '66. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a teaching degree before marrying Larry Whalen in '73. She worked for Flint Schools teaching at Scott Elementary for over 35 years.
Barb enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved being outside whether it was planting flowers or going on her daily walk throughout the neighborhood. She also enjoyed shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry, and brother, Brian Blight. Survived by children Brett Whalen, Ryan Whalen, and Holly Neal (Eric), grandkids Grant and Jillian Neal, brothers Keith Blight (Judy), Kevin Blight (Laura), Neil Blight (Michelle), a niece and many nephews.
The family would like to thank The Pines of Burton and Swan Hospice for their care.
No services will be held. Cremation has taken place.
