ECKER, Harold L. – of Flint, MI, age 86, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Interment in St. John Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or a charity of one’s choice, in Harold’s memory.

Harold was born in Flint, MI on December 17, 1934, son of the late John and Marjorie Ecker. He married Marie Kusky on July 17, 1954. Harold retired from AC Rochester, Divisional Plant Engineering in 1991 after 38 years of service. He was an early member of Holy Rosary Parish and recently of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Harold was a volunteer firefighter for the Genesee Township II Fire Department from January 1965 until retiring in September 2010 attaining Battalion Chief. Harold was also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of Davison’s Bishop Albers Council 4090 and the Ardon F. Dubie Fourth Degree Assembly 0523, Past Grand Knight and Financial Secretary, one of the original members of this council. He enjoyed active support of junior/senior athletics for the Holy Rosary Wolverines, driving various team's buses, and basketball scorekeeper. He was an avid fan of Michigan professional sports teams as well as Notre Dame and Michigan football. Harold especially loved time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vacation travel and dining out were also favored activities.

Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie; 5 children, Mark (Susan) Ecker, Lynda (Mark Clark) Ecker, Matthew Ecker, Valerie (Mark) Kelley and Harold Ecker; 6 grandchildren, Sarah, Mark and Amanda Ecker, Autumn Bell, Ann Cannon and Sean Kelley; 5 great-grandchildren, Molly, Talea, Colin, Camryn and Brynn; one great-great-grandchild, Phoenix and sister, Joyce Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marjorie Ecker; brother, Richard Ecker and sister, Karen Ecker.
