Daly, Lucille M. of Flushing, age 88, died Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. Per her request, no services will be held, and a private burial will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Lucille was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 18, 1933, to Gunther and Rena (Wendt) Eickhoff. She married Charles L. Daly, the love of her life, in Flint, MI, on June 7, 1952. She and Charley spent 4 years in Norfolk, VA, (1952-1956) while Charley was in the Navy. She then worked at Chevrolet Manufacturing for 31 years as a secretary, retiring in May of 1987. She and Charley spent many happy years with the family at her parents’ cottage on Secord Lake in Gladwin. Upon retirement, she and Charley enjoyed wintering in Florida for 14 years. Lucille had many interests including interior decorating, reading, painting, crossword puzzles, and cross-stitching.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Charles and brother, Robert Eickhoff, in 2010. She is survived by special niece, Carolyn Goergen and her husband, John, who helped her with so many things and were wonderful to her. She took several trips with Carolyn and John to other states and to many places in Michigan. She would also like to thank her nephew, Bob Eickhoff and his wife, Sue, for the wonderful care they gave her in her last months.
In addition, Lucille is survived by her nephew Gary Eickhoff, special friends Virginia Staley, Nancy Walter, Kathy Vincent, and many wonderful neighbors and friends who helped her through some lonely times.
