HENDRICKS, Jim – Of Flint, age 73, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his son’s residence, surrounded by loving family.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Renee Varner officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Genesee County Animal Shelter.
Visitation 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Jim was born in Flint, Michigan on June 18, 1949, the son of the late Edgar and Wanda (Henderson) Hendricks.
On August 24, 1991 he married Virginia Salyers in Swartz Creek, Michigan.
He loved the Red Wings, Tigers; loved to play Bridge with his brother, Roger. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim enjoyed softball in his younger years, cars, recording movies and music.
Mr. Hendricks was employed by Buick City for 32 years, retiring in 2000.
Surviving are his son, Ryan (Courtney) Hendricks;
grandchildren, Sarah (Kyle) Cord, Grace Ptacek, Ryan Hendricks, Jr., Kaylee Hendricks, Bradyn Hendricks, Jaxon Hendricks and Maddilynn;
great-granddaughter, Sophia;
brother, Roger (Elaine) Hendricks;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia son, Todd Ptacek and sister, Sharon Periat.
