Richard E. Taylor, age 76, of Flushing, passed away on October 18, 2025.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Wednesday October 22nd, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 21,2025, from 5-8pm at Swartz Funeral Home.
Burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Richard was born on February 5, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, to Bert and Gloria (Goddard) Taylor.
Richard graduated from Flint Central High School in 1967.
He married the love of his life, Carol Lyon, on October 11, 1974, and they shared 51 wonderful years together.
Richard was a true outdoorsman who loved spending time in nature. Whether he was out on the lake with a fishing pole in hand or hunting in the woods. He also loved making beer and wine, gardening, coin collecting and photography.
He was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a registered nurse for many years at McLaren hospital in the Endoscopy unit. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Taylor; children Matthew (Steffanie) Taylor, Eric (Melissa) Taylor, and Kari (William) Huggard; grandchildren Jacob, Wyatt, Hollis, Rocco, Adri Anna, and Joshua; sisters Carol Adams and Debra Richards and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friends Larry (Cindy)Sabin, Robert (Iwona) McCollor, and his beloved dog, Ella.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Gloria Taylor and brother-in-law Thomas Adams.
