PETIPRIN, Barbara Gene – of Lapeer, MI, age 82, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (Suncrest), in Barbara’s memory.
Barbara was born in Caro, MI on May 20, 1940, daughter of the late Loyd Petiprin and Roberta (Dowling) Onweller. She was a graduate of Caro High School Class of 1958. Barbara was an active member of Jobs Daughters and a former Girl Scout Leader. She was the Clinique counter manager at J.L. Hudson Department Stores for several years. Barbara loved downhill skiing and was a member of the Schussmeisters’ Ski Club for many years. She also enjoyed sailing, traveling and spending time in Mio, MI at her parents cabin. Barbara looked forward to her weekly hair appointments with her granddaughter, Heather, and their “Grammy Spammy” Snapchat videos. She loved the special bond they had. Barbara was a wonderful mom and grandma who always put her family first. We are proud of the way Barbara fought back these last 4 years always keeping us and the staff at Suncrest laughing and on their toes.
Barbara is survived by 2 children, Michele (Mark Ruby) Sprung and Rich Sprung; granddaughter, Heather Lynne Sprung; 2 brothers, Michael (Mary) Petiprin and Jeff (Kelly) Onweller; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd Petiprin and Roberta (Tom) Onweller; sister, Michele Andre Petiprin.
