Everett Thomas Cragg

Age 82 of Owosso passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at Memorial Healthcare Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Chesaning, Michigan. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Maple Grove township. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 from 3 pm until 6 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 6 pm with a time of sharing to follow. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 10 am until the time of mass.

Everett was born June 22, 1942 in Essexville, Michigan the son of Everett and Lillian (Hill) Cragg.

He graduated from St. Charles High School and attended Mott Community College.

Everett was a family man. He lived for his wife, children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Whether it was having a picnic, going on vacations, or simply just getting together his family made him the happiest. In his earlier years, Everett was an avid runner. He enjoyed his classic tractors, being able to fix anything with his bare hands, and of course his sweet treats. His love for his wife was enormous and he truly valued the time spent with her before her passing.

He married his forever sweetheart Joyce Simmons in Ithaca on October 13, 1962. They had spent over 60 loving years together before her passing on December 23, 2022.

Everett worked at Buick City in Flint, Michigan as a Welder for over 39 years.

Everett is survived by his children, Thomas (Maria) Cragg, Roger (Renae) Cragg, Joseph (Sandie) Cragg, and Catherine (Tony) Amman; 11grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, John Cragg, Jerome Cragg, Marlene Bethune, Theresa Cragg, and Geralyn Smith; along with several other loving family and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Cragg, parents, Everett and Lillian Cragg, sister, Mary Ann Juhas.
