Shirley Ann Bordeau of Davison, age 89, died Wednesday October 18, 2023 at Briarwood Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Private burial in Evergreen Cemetery will be held at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am Tuesday until of time services at 11:00 am.
Shirley was born in Wayne County on September 12, 1934 the daughter of the late: Walter and Ann Appel and has resided in the Davison area for many years. She was joined in marriage to Harold E. Bordeau on September 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2005. Shirley graduated from St. Matthew High School, Flint. During High School she volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital and later became a CNA and continued to work at the hospital. Shirley enjoyed embroidery and made numerous items for family and friends. Her love of Country was shown as she volunteered for many activities at the Davison VFW Post 4087, including letters to the Disabled Veterans, and packages sent to our Armed Forces while they served. She also enjoyed volunteering at many community projects throughout her life.
Shirley is survived by children: Theresa & Haislip Hayes, Mary & Bob Jones, Bruce Bordeau, Chris & Myong Bordeau, Melissa Bordeau-Pogue, and Steven Bordeau. She also leaves her loving thirteen grand children, twenty great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by three baby daughters and son Harold J. Bordeau. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
