FARIS, Walter Leroy– of Flint, age 81, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. Family and friends will gather at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 28, 2021 and then process to Davison Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM; Pastor Jason Crum officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Walter was born in Flint, MI on December 23, 1939, son of the late Glen and Elizabeth (Stybert) Faris. He married Bernadine Keirns on May 21, 1960. Walter worked at A/C for 42 years in skilled trades and was a member of UAW Local #651. After retirement he worked as a security guard at Leisure Lake. He loved to go fishing, hunting, camping, watching the Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. Walter enjoyed his time with his kids, his grandkids and loved to put smiles on peoples faces.
Walter is survived by his wife, Bernadine; children, Robert “Bob” (Tammy) Faris, Cathy (Richard) Digard and Doug (Tina) Faris; grandchildren, Joe (Erin) Workman, Kristie (Richard) Egan, Jessica (Joe) Owczarski and Kaily Faris; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Glenna (Richard) Kelley.
