Annie M. Hodo was born February 14, 1935 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rollie and Willie Maud (Cheeks) Nelson of Franklin, Georgia. She moved to Flint, Michigan with her parents. She attended Flint School. Annie worked for the Flint Board of Education, Kates Café and AC Spark Plug. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and watching Family Feud.
She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Grayling L. Morris Sr; grandchildren, Pictoria Eagle, Grayling Jr., Kia (Jacob) Morris, Gregory, Amanda Morris, Tasha Mead, Turren Morris and Tamika Morris; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; sisters, Lola Marshall and Catherine Nelson; brothers, Rollie James and Charles Nelson of Denver, Colorado; Olin Nelson of Warrensville Heights, Ohio and Aunt Rachel Cheeks; and many friends.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Rollie and Willie Maude Nelson; daughter, Theresa Cooper; granddaughter, Pictoria Morris; siblings, Rollie G. Nelson Jr., Addie Simmons, Ethel Mae Nelson, Robbie Nelson, Stanley Nelson, and daughter-in-law, Angie (Stevens) Morris.
We the family of Annie M. Hodo wish to thank everyone for their love and support during our time of bereavement. We would like to give special thanks to Regency of Grand Blanc, the staff of Fountain Pointe and to special caregiver, Mercede, the McCoy family, Bishop Rosezell Rutley (Senior Pastor of Berea Family Tabernacle of Faith Church) and Swartz Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am-2:00pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Graveside Service will follow the visitation at River Rest Cemetery with Bishop Rosezell Rutley presiding.
