Washburn, David Lee of Holland, MI, formerly of Flushing, MI, age 93, died Tuesday, November 25, 2025. A private committal service will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Optimal Hospice.
David was born in Lowell, Michigan on October 15, 1932, the son of David and Ida (Wingeier) Washburn. David graduated from Flint Central High School and later from Flint Junior College. He married Corrine MacFarland on March 31, 1956, in Flint.
He owned and operated the White Eagle Bar and Restaurant in Flint and later became a Real Estate Agent owning many investment properties. David served as the Genesee County Commissioner for four years. He loved golf and was an active member of Flushing Valley Country Club. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. "GO BLUE!" In the winter months, he spent his time in Naples, Florida. David loved vacationing, especially with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
David is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Russell) Rudland of Holland, MI, Kathie (Mike) Gerdes of Fremont, MI, Kristi (Ed) O’Mara of Lake Odessa, MI; and son, David Washburn of Port Charlotte, FL; eight grandchildren: Taryn, Casey, Tricia, Taylor, Kyle, Lindsay, David, and Colin; and eleven great-grandchildren: Brylee, Kendyl, Landen, Oaklie, Bennett, Poppy, Bensin, Willa, Macauleigh, Charlie, and Walker; brothers, Stewart Washburn, and George (Carol) Washburn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine; parents; and sister, Barbara Davidson.
