HENNEY, DALE DOUGLAS– Of Flint, age 82, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, death was caused from a long battle with cancer.
Dale was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 14, 1942, the son of the late Harry and Mereta Henney of Perrinton, Michigan.
Dale spent 18 years on the family farm near Perrinton, Michigan. After he graduated from Fulton High School, he enrolled in Ferris State University.
Dale married Janet Baker on August 26, 1961, in St. Johns, Michigan. They relocated to Flint, Michigan, in 1963 for Dale to find employment in his chosen field of architectural design. Dale resided in Flint with his beloved wife until his death.
While living in Flint, Dale and his wife became members of the Riverdale Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon and chairman of the Deacon Board.
Dale enjoyed most recently the fifteen years of summers spent at Indian lake in the Upper Peninsula fishing with his grandchildren, family and friends. Most of all Dale loved the Lord Jesus Christ with whom he walked with and served faithfully his adult life. His greatest joy today comes from watching and knowing his children and grandchildren are living their lives for Christ.
Surviving are wife, Janet (Baker) Henney; brother, Wayne Henney; children, Douglas Dale Henney, Chet Allen Henney, Robin Corinne (Henney) Hord, Kyle Eugene Henney, Dawn Michelle (Henney) Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dean, Paul, Robert and sister Eileen (Henney) Hoppa.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, August 29, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Jerry Foster officiating.
Visitation will be from 10am-6pm Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the funeral home.
Contributions may be directed to the Riverdale Baptist Church.
