Keir Wallace Relitz, 77, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014.
Keir was born March 23, 1936 in Lapeer to parents Herman & Helen (Wallace) Relitz. He graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1955. Keir co-owned South Side Auto Parts in Lapeer with his brother Keith until his retirement in 1985. He was an avid old car enthusiast as well as a voracious newspaper reader. Keir especially loved the family dogs Gabby (a basset hound) and Minnie (a yorkie).
Keir is survived by his wife: Judy Relitz of Lapeer; brother, Neil Relitz of California; nieces: Theresa (Kim) Henry of Lapeer and Karen Relitz of Beaverton; great nephews: Eric Henry of Detroit and Scott (Cassidy) Henry of Lapeer; sister-in-law, Joyce Relitz of Beaverton; step-children: Tim (April) Fisher of Lapeer, Tammy (Greg) Schowalter of Davison, Todd Fisher of Lapeer and Tom Fisher of Caro. Mr. Relitz was preceded in death by his twin brother, Keith Relitz and his parents.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Keir's funeral will be 11:00AM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lapeer, officiated by Pastor John Kaiser.
