Passed away with family by his side, after a lengthy illness, Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor; age 42 years. He was born on April 30, 1980, in Saginaw Michigan, the son of Robert Ciszek and Diane (Wolf) Bennetts and stepson of Scott Bennetts.
Jason graduated from Frankenmuth High School in 1998, attended Michigan State University and Saginaw Valley State University. Jason had a passion for sports, playing Little League Baseball, Traveling Baseball League, High School Baseball and playing and coaching in the Frankenmuth Men’s Softball League for many years. An avid sports fan, Jason enjoyed being the local sports resource for his friends. He enjoyed going to Detroit Tigers games, football games and concerts with his sister, Shannon Ciszek, and spending time with his family and friends. Jason also had a love for animals, especially his cat, Cabby.
Surviving family includes his father, Robert Ciszek; mother, Diane (Wolf) Bennetts; stepfather, Scott Bennetts; sister, Shannon Ciszek; uncle Warren and aunt Christy Wolf; many cousins, and his many friends. Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Marie (Geyer) Wolf, and Louis and Dolores (Christie) Ciszek.
Memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate. Jason’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Friday, July 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Pet Angel Adoption and Rescue or the Jason R. Ciszek Memorial Fund C/O Diane Bennetts.
