Jean Smith, age 98, of Burton, Michigan, died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Fostrian Court. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
Jean was born in Flint, Michigan on November 28, 1922 to Albert and Agnes (Lewis) Lyman. She married Alvin Kenneth Smith on October 16, 1954. Jean retired after working a combined 30 years from A&P and Kroger. In retirement they spent summers at their cottage in northern Michigan and winters in Panama City Beach, Florida. Jean enjoyed golf, gardening, shopping, walking on the beach, watching the Detroit Tigers and spending time with friends and family.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Kim (Steve Walther) Dellar; grandchildren, Denise (Paul) Osmun and Brian Dellar; great-granddaughter, Madison Osmun; and sister-in-law, Josephine Lyman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken Smith; siblings, Albert Lyman, Charles Lyman, Betty Ann Bright, and Jack Lyman. |
