KITSONAS, William "Bill" - Age 90, of Flint, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 2245 E. Baldwin Road, Grand Blanc. Fr. Peter Bistolarides celebrating. Burial at 3 PM Saturday at the chapel of Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 5-8 PM and at church Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries.
Bill was born in Flint, MI, on August 29, 1933 the son of Theodore and Olga (Keramedas) Kitsonas. He graduated from Flint Tech High School and later proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957, stationed in Germany. After returning he attended both Michigan State University and the University of Michigan from which he graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree. He retired from the City of Flint as a Civil Engineer after 30 years of service. Bill was a proud member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and for many years was a member of the Ahepa Men's organization. He was a avid sports enthusiast and lover of animals. He was also compassionate to those less fortunate, leaving an enduring impact on the lives of many. The family would like to thank the staff at Symphony of Linden for their friendship and support of Bill and the cherished memories that were made.
Surviving are: his nieces and nephews, Stephen (Cindy) Rivette, Matthew (Lori) Rivette, Marc Rivette, Maria Greenfield, Nicholas Kitsonas, Lisa (Richard) Moore, Elizabeth (Joseph) Kent, Rebecca (Bruce) Lewis and Katherine Bower; and several grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Olga Kitsonas; brother, Nicholas (Elfriede) Kitsonas; and sisters, Irene (Bruce) Bower and Virginia (Hector) Rivette. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
