BUNKER, LeRoy B. Sr. – of Davison, MI, age 85, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at The Pines of Burton Memory Care Facility under Hospice care. A Funeral Service will be held 6 PM Friday, December 17, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors from 3-6 PM Friday, December 17, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either The Care Team Home Health & Hospice organization or The Pines of Burton Memory Care South facility, in LeRoy’s memory.
LeRoy was born in Kimball Twp, St. Clair Co., MI on January 31, 1936, the son of the late Bernard and Edna (Schmude) Bunker. He married Janet Quade on January 19, 1957 in Lapeer, MI and she preceded him in death on July 9, 2014. LeRoy retired from Grand Trunk Western/Canadian National Railroad in 1999 after 43 years of service. He was a member of Davison Free Methodist Church and the Davison Oddfellows Lodge. LeRoy enjoyed square dancing with his wife, Janet, camping, hunting, fishing, puttering in the yard, playing cards and board games, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with his family.
LeRoy is survived by 5 children, Penny Scharrer (Mike Dietrich), Gale Smith (Maria Masi), Robin Odden, LeRoy (Jean) Bunker II and Anthony (Amy) Bunker; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Edna Bunker; wife, Janet Bunker; a granddaughter, Shiloh Smith and a grandson, Blake Scharrer.
